It seems quiet there, until everyone jumps out to surprise her. Ashley gives her Battle Frontier symbols to her mom Delia to keep, and challenges Gary to a battle.
Outside the lab Ashley and Gary are lined up ready to battle, Tracey is refereeing while Delia and Oak watch from the sidelines. Gary sends out Electivire and Ashley sends out Marshtomp, Marshtomp starts with a Water Gun while Electivire counters with a Thunderbolt.
Mudkip evolved into a Marshtomp when he was having a practice battle against Ashley's Machoke.
Ashley tries to use her Pokédex to get some information on Electivire but there is no data available.
Gary explains that Electivire is a newly discovered Pokémon from Sinnoh, which Ashley gets excited about.
Marshtomp tries a Tackle but Electivire uses its tail to jump into the air out of the way and uses Iron Tail, which Marshtomp counters with his Mud Shot.
Marshtomp uses Water Gun again but Electivire jumps out of the way yet again.
Ashley calls Marshtomp to use Tackle on Electivire but Electivire uses Protect and then finishes Marshtomp off with a powerful Focus Punch.
Gary and Electivire are the winners.
Gary walks over to Ashley and starts to talk to her, saying that she may have won the Battle Frontier but he should not it for granted.
Gary announces that he is going to go to Sinnoh to train his Pokémon and learn more about Pokémon.
Tracey and Oak support this decision and back up Gary, offering him some words of advice.
Gary looks over to Ashley, smiles at her and wonders off into the distance.
Ashley stands there and starts to talk to herself about Sinnoh and the newly discovered Pokémon.
Delia watches on and senses the change in her heart.

Morning comes and outside Ashley has lined up all of the Pokémon she has traveled with in Hoenn and the Battle Frontier: Blaziken, Marshtomp, Numel, Crawdaunt, Swellow, Froslass, Weavile, Eevee, Elekid, Bonsly, Rayquaza, Whiscash, Nuzleaf, Skitty, Beautifly, Kirlia, Loudred, Aron, Sableye, Flygon, Swablu, Lunatone, Solrock, Milotic, Tropius, Absol, Clamperl, Spoink, Kyogre and Aipom.
She says goodbye to Professor Oak, Tracey, and all her Pokémon, but before she goes Professor Oak hands over to her a newly updated Pokédex with all the Sinnoh information on it.
Ashley turns around and runs off down the lane, but Aipom looks very sad compared to the rest of Ashley's Pokémon.
Suddenly, Ashley's Aipom sneaks on board the boat to Sinnoh and meets up with her as the boat sails off into the distance to Sinnoh where Ashley's newest adventures await.
