THE LIGHT
I slip into the darkness,
it's emissaries hold me tight,
while I fall through the veil,
through all darkness & light,
and my body it fights.

You hold me in your hands,
intertwine your light with mine,
the darkness in my heart,
cleanse all of my soul's sins,
bring me closer to the light.

I am weary even still today,
your face feels so faint in me,
but you say it'll be alright;
while these chains imprison,
you break me free again,
and hug me in your arms.

When I felt so weak, you,
found a way to shine brighter,
enough to cast out the dark.
Whenever I've been broken,
you've held me so tight.

In dreams I drift away, I feel,
like everything will crumble,
if I have no one to talk to,
but you give me a gentle kiss,
say it'll all be alright soon.

I hold onto your soul now,
and when I still feel so down,
that I feel like I'll drown.
You're the one I hold onto,
you're the light, I wish,
you'll always cover my heart.
