September Song
The heat of August,
The cold of September.
These are the days,
I can't forget to remember.
As quickly as it all began,
It seemed to be over.
It's so hard to forgive,
When I only just loved her.
It's not easy to forget,
All the love I don't have yet.
Dancing shadows in,
October sun.
I'll know you as,
The only one.
There were only ever a few,
Times where I slept,
And wanted to wake up.
Most nights I just thought,
That the black hole inside me,
Would swallow me up.
Rainbow over Mordor,
Dreaming of a distant shore.
Rainbow for us,
In the sky up above.
There was a plastic connection,
That didn't mean that kinda love.
Your face means so little,
Now I look at you through,
A stranger's eyes.
But I can't deny that,
Every time I think of you,
A little piece of my soul dies.
The cold in a sickly September night,
When all lights are too bright.
Could I finally be at peace,
Or do all my feelings simply cease?
Am I really healing,
Or just drifting further away,
Day by day?
Guess it doesn't matter,
As long as there's some,
Love left to show.
Then I don't care where,
On earth we go.
