What does it mean to say I come from. the streets? You have all these rappers claims gangs and glorifying street mentality. Which has Influenced our kids to be outlaws in these streets. But put it in perspective. When was these guys in the streets. Gang bangers don't have body guards. Chris Brown , Ray J , Lil Wayne , Soulja boy all are talented individuals. But gangsters they are not. They have been famous and either have money or been around money with body guards most their lives. So what do gangsters do. Rob , steal , unalive enemies , from rival hoods. Sale narcotics. When did these people live that life. Ice cube isn't a gang banger snoop dog isn't a gang banger. Yg got put on a neighborhood close to his debut album. Don't be fooled gang banging and being a gangster will get you in prison or unalived. Music is the telling of stories to rhythm and beats. Some of them actually lived the stories thry tell. Most are relaying things they've heard or seen. Know the difference. Our kids wanting to be authentic , are claiming and joining gangs and have the street life mentality. They are taking lives and losing theirs to the system for clout and street credibility. If the rappers lived what they wrote in the actual time they'd be in prison. Case and point the rapper Trey Dee who was an actual gangbanger who went to prison for the actual life he talked about in his lyrics. X raided , C-Bo are other rappers who went to prison for living what they talked about in songs. It's the best time in life to be authentic and who you are. The rappers would have you think. Saying I'm from this neighborhood , and where a certain color and are affiliated with it and use hand signs and crash out on people with an entourage is all that it takes to be a gangster. Make you think that's what being a gangster or gangbanger is or all it consists of. But the people who actually live that life are not entertainers if they were they wouldn't be living that life. Don't be fooled by images on TV or what you hear in music. Live your life take care of your loved ones and family. Stand on your own. Now that's gangster!
