I ended a three year relationship today
though I was right in finally walking away
she used to make me look so black and blue
to the point where my depression had grew.
Isolating me from my family and friends
though I allowed her to hit me again & again
she caused me a lifetime of heartache today
I did the right thing by just walking away.
The love I had for her wasn't the same
I looked at her with resentment and shame
she broke my heart the day she first hit me
by walking away, I regained my dignity.
Three years of abuse I've faced everyday
so broken down that my pain won't go away
she caused me so much heartache & disdain
when I look at her, I'm in so much pain.
