she's the girl locked in the dark,
she's screaming and crying with her whole heart.
a scream of uncertainty, a scream of fear,
a scream out of hope that somebody'll be here.
she's still screaming, because she's so scared,
afraid of the dark, but nobody has cared.
scared of being alone, but they still leave her behind,
alone in her room so mean and unkind.
finally, they give in to open her door,
they see her sitting broken, so lost on the floor.
they come in, looking down and turn the light on,
the girl's full of hope, but this hope was all wrong.
they shut the door and lock it, while thinking it is right,
but maybe this broke their girl, because she was just a child.
