down that hallway
Heartbroken and betrayed, I woke up this morning,
To an empty space beside me, my heart deeply mourning.
She left a letter, words that pierced my soul,
Leaving me shattered, feeling so alone.

As I read her words, tears filled my eyes,
She said she won't be back, my heart's demise.
Why couldn't she face me, tell me goodbye,
Leaving me high and dry, questioning why?

But down that hallway, a glimmer of hope,
Our faithful dog, with eyes full of hope.
She left the dog behind, took everything else,
But she couldn't take my love for myself.

Standing here, feeling the sting of betrayal,
But I won't let it consume me, I'll prevail.
Gathering my strength, starting anew,
This love was meant for one, not for two.

Through sleepless nights, days filled with pain,
I'll find my way, healing from this heart's strain.
With my loyal companion by my side,
Together we'll mend, the wounds that still hide.

Down that hallway, a flicker of light,
With my faithful friend, I'll reclaim my might.
She left the door behind, took everything else,
But she couldn't take my love for myself.

Moving on, leaving the past behind,
No longer defined by the memories that bind.
Each step taken with courage, learning to be free,
Stronger than the love that couldn't be.

She may have left, without a word or goodbye,
But I'll find peace within, and soar the sky.
With my loyal dog, we'll conquer it all,
Rebuilding my world, standing proud and tall.

Down that hallway, a new chapter unfolds,
With my faithful friend, breaking free from these holds.
She left the door behind, took everything else,
But she couldn't take my love for myself.

Waking up today, from overnight sleep,
Though she's gone, my heart's no longer weak.
Embracing the future, with strength and grace,
Love will find me again, in a better place.
