I walked along the road and saw,
Ahead, a fork. I knew—
I thought—the first dirt path to be
The darker of the two.
The second felt my footsteps first.
Someone, to me, once said:
"The road goes on for miles," but
He knew not where it lead.
Some time I spent along that path—
And something, there, I found.
I looked before me, one last time—
And chose to turn around.
