Where wars don't exist beyond headlines
One suddenly arrives out of nowhere -
to sink in a sea full of violence.
Feets tethered to the quicksand - against an approaching tide.
When days are mangled with deaths - sunsets and sunrises bloom into incomprehensible vocabulary.
Stare, breathe deep, explode.
There is no consequence.
There is no absolution.

Gunshots won't penetrate your skin.
Cannons won't blaze your sky.
Your children won't nap in graveyards.
You are safe forever, and ever.
You are safe, forever and ever.
