This new person I've become
Came with a price there are no refunds for
The tragedy, the pain, everything she went through
Made me appreciate this new person even more
The old person let her emotions dictate her life
She was reckless, explosive and naive
She cared to much what people thought
And she wore her heart on her sleeve
This new person I've become
Isn't as nice as what the old person used to be
She also don't tell everybody her secrets
So later on they can't be used against me
This new person I have become
Isn't as often misunderstood
Cause the old me fought my whole life
And had been fighting since childhood
She no longer gives unlimited chances
This new person I've become
You have one time to fuck me over
And then you'll find how quickly I am done
I'm in a whole new different time, different place
It feels to me a whole lifetime has passed by
I feel like I went from an ugly catapillar
To this big beautiful butterfly
Destiny determines who enters your life
But you get to decide how long they stay
If they fail to treat you right or know your worth
You need to send them on their way
They say the hurt is most felt
In the silence of the night
But I've learned to pick up and carry on
With each day at the morning light
The new person I've become
Has made me feeling a little more secure
Although it came with a price with no refunds
Was worth what she went through and endured
