14. Jesus warned his followers against thinking that their prayers would be rendered more efficacious by ornate repetitions, eloquent phraseology, fasting, penance, or sacrifices. But he did exhort his believers to employ prayer as a means of leading up through thanksgiving to true worship. Jesus deplored that so little of the spirit of thanksgiving was to be found in the prayers and worship of his followers. He quoted from the Scriptures on this occasion, saying: “It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to the name of the Most High, to acknowledge his loving-kindness every morning and his faithfulness every night, for God has made me glad through his work. In everything I will give thanks according to the will of God.”
Evolve
Cold and wet, it rained all night.
Briefly, morning sun, showed light.
But now it’s supposed to rain all day.
Best keep mud out of your way.

You can have the life you choose.
Decide how you plan to be used—
Used by this world, to improve.
A force inside you, you should use.

Slow down enough to find yourself.
Realize you’ve been indwelt.
A Spirit within you, now resides.
It will be, as you decide!

Decide as you know what is best.
Imagine best and nothing less!
Love can make all things occur—
Purify the things impure.

Pray for souls whom are misled.
You may be the one instead!
Open minds will find the Truth.
Allow your heart to be renewed.

Change within’s a true reward.
With God, you never will be bored!
Teaching, revealing, more in time.
It’s always best to do what’s kind.

Thank You, Father, more will see
Your Truth, as we make history.
Every day new life is lived
And we evolve more, as we give.
