Torn between Memories
A heart in limbo, torn in two,
I miss the past, I miss you too.
Yet in my mind, a war I fight,
For wanting you just isn't right.

Your smile, your laugh, they haunt my days,
In memories' soft, lingering haze.
But time has shown, as clear as dawn,
The reasons why you're truly gone.

I crave the touch, the whispered tone,
But know that I'm better alone.
This ache inside, it will not last,
A fleeting ghost from a shadowed past.

So here I stand, both lost and found,
With feet on ever-shifting ground.
Missing you, but not the pain,
A different type of sweet refrain.
