We are what we eat
"We are what we eat"

Since ancient times,
wisdom have been told,
to be more mindful of diet,
lest be careful, of what you become.

Satvik, Rajasic and Tamasic,
food have different guna(qualities),
that enhances these temperaments,
by influencing, thoughts and behaviors.

Modern science have also shown,
their role in regulating hormones,
be it dopamine, the feel-good one,
or serotonin, our happiness beacon.

And we learned the significance,
of our gut, acting as a second brain,
with a multitude of neurotransmitters,
connects to our central nervous system.

Even researches correlate, its affections,
the imbalance, make us prone to depression,
be it mild irritation, to increased inflammation,
causing mood swings, or heighten aggression.

So, let's not dismiss, advices of elderly,
look down upon traditional culinaries,
be more mindful, of food we ingest,
for, there lies the secret...of our health.
