Chapter 8: Work Harde, Play Harder

Lia sat anxiously in silence, wondering what secrets molly could be talking about.

Lia: What if Noah has an illness? I care so much about him. I can't lose him so soon after finally getting him!

Molly sighed as she walked over to where Lia was sitting.

Molly: Lia, you spend the most time with Noah out of everyone in his life. As his personal assistant and now as his .... well lover, I suppose!

Lia: Noah and I haven't really had the whole Boyfriend/ Girlfriend conversation yet. I guess lover is probably the best way to describe us right now!

Molly: I know that you can see what a workaholic my son is. He really needs someone that will look oafter him. He is not the best at taking care of himself. So I want to help you to be able to that for him. Noah isn't that forthcoming about his needs, but that's why I want to make sure you know some of his favourite things.

The knot that had formed in her stomach loosened and she took a deep sigh of relief.

Lia: Ohh good. she just wants to tell me how to make Noah happy!

Molly: Noah would never tell anyone, but he absolutely loves chicken tenders and fries.

Lia: Really? That's his favourite meal?!

Molly: Funny isn't it? He has the means to eat the mist expensive food around, but he prefers a typical kids meal!

Lia and Molly giggled at the thought.

Lia: I think it's adorable. The more I get to this sweet, inocent side of Noah, the harder I find myself falling for him.

Molly: He's always been such an endearing soul. He just has a hard time showing that side if himself because ehe thinks he has to be stern all the time as a businessman!

Lia: Wow! If Molly is sharing this kind of stuff with me , then she must apprilove of my relationship with Noah. Molly l, Thank You for sharing that with me. It really means a lot that you want to help me make Noah happy!

Molly: I want my son to be happy, he deserves it, and you seem like a very sweet, genuine lady. If you make him happy, I'm happy!

Lia smiled shyly at Molly as she raised hrom her seat.

Lia: Thank You Molly!

Lia stood as well and gave her a quick hug on her way back to Noah's room.

After her visit to Molly, work became a whirlwind for her and Noah. The new projects were going well, but they've kept them both so busy, there's been little time to talk about their relationship.

Lia: I know, I see him everyday, but I miss that sweet side I him that I've grown to love. But his work is important to him and I have to support his business side as well!

Lia entered the office with a cup of coffee and saw Noah sitting in a more relaxed position asnhe perushed some documents.

Lia: Hey Noah, taking a short break?

His eyes lit up when he saw her.

Noah: Yeah, I have a vedio conference in about ten minutes, but I figured I could take a short break before. Care to join me?!

Lia: Of course!

She walked over and set down the cup of coffee on the table before sitting next to him on the sofa. As she erased into her seat, her leg brushed his and she suddenly heard his thoughts clearly:

Noah: I can't believe the senior managers want another pointless vedio conference. How do they not see that it's a complete waste of time. I could be spending with Lia!

Lia: Well sounds like I'm not the only one missing our time together. How sweet. He's been working so hard. I should take his this time to just enjoy this peaceful moment with him.

She rested her head against him and sighed happily.

Noah: She's so incredible. How did I get so lucky?

Lia: Definitely I'm the lucky one!

After several moments, Noha let's ourlt a deep sigh.

Noah: I suppose I should start preparing for this useless meeting. I'd rather spend the time with you!

Lia: Well have more time together once this project is done.

Noah: I'll be revising our current workflow procedures an making some changes!

Noah looked I. to the vedio conference while Lia was busy herself re-filing his documents and cleaning up.
An hour passed by, the conference still hadn't finished, and she could see the irritation growing on Noah's face.

Noah: .......

He looked over at her and subtly rolled his eyes, the winked at her. She chuckled softly, enjoying this playful side of him.

Lia: Maybe, he needs a little extra help elrelaxing. He did say he'd rather spend this time with me.

She took a seat on the couch and waited quietly for the meeting to finish.
The meeting finally ended well after the rest of the employees had left for the day.

Noah: That took much longer than I thought it would be. Do I have anything else on my schedule for today? !

She pulled out her phone and double-checked Noah's calender.

Lia: Nope! that was it for today!

Noah: Phew! I don't think my brain can handle any more. Thank You for everything you do Lia. You've been working really hard!

Lia: Aww, that's so sweet, Noah I'm happy to do it for you. You have such a contagious smile. You should use it more often with your employees. I think it will boost morale more!

Noah: That's an interesting thought, I'll think about it. But for now, I just want to spend time with the most beautiful women in the world. I promised to show you, my place. What do you say we go there tonight?

Lia: I think that sounds perfect!

As she entered Noah's beautiful luxury penthouse, once again she was reminded of his vast wealth.

Lia: This is beautiful, my entire apartment can fit in this living room!

Noah noticed the look on her face.

Noah: You look lost in your thoughts, Lia what on your mind?

Lia: I was just thinking how beautiful your penthouse is!

Noah: Well, I'm happy you like to, Maybe one day you can think of it as our place!

Lia ......

Noah: You know I don't allow many people into my place. I don't even have a housekeeper. I have a cleaning service that comes in to clean every week, but that's it. I've always had trouble trusting people in my personal space.

Lia: So .... does that mean you trust me?

Noah: It absolutely does. I brought you here because I want to share my most intimate self with you!

Lia: That's so sweet Noah. I want know every side of you!

Noah kissed her cheek softly.

Lia: So of you don't have a housekeeper, does that mean you cook all your meals yourself?

Noah: No, there's a restaurant nearby , that prepares and delivers meals for me every week!

Lia: Ohh, I see!

Noah: Mkae yourself comfortable, love. I'm going to shower. Here's my phone, go ahead and order whatever you want to eat!

Noah handed her his phone and then left to take his shower!

She looked at the phone and tried to order when she suddenly remembered what Molly had told her in secret.

Lia: Molly had asked me to take care of Noah because he doesn't take care of himself. He's doing it tonight by putting my preferences ahead of his own. It's sweet, but I want him to enjoy tonight. I'm going to surprise Noah with chicken tenders and fries. I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees what I ordered!

After a while Noah came back, his hair wet and tousled.

Lia: Geez, he looks even sexier than usual!

Noah: Did you order?

Lia: I did!

KNOCK, KNOCK .....

Lia: That must be the food now!

Noah went to answer the door and came back with the bags of food. Noah's face lit as he pulled it out.

Noah: Lia! This is my favorite. How did you know?

Lia: A little birdie told me that chicken tenders and fries were your favorite food. Next time I'd love to cook for you and make it homemade!

Noha: Nothing would make me happier than that Lia!

After finishing their meals, Lia and Noah cleaned up.

Noah: It's pretty late, Lia, why don't you stay here tonight?

Lia: That's a good idea. But I would like to take a shower!

Noah: Of course!

Noah showed her to the shower and made sure she had towels and something to sleep in. She took a quick l, hot shower and rejoined Noah in the living groom. But when she got there, she saw Noah standing with a large boqeut of roses.

Lia: Noah? What all this?

Noah moved closer to her as he gazed deeply into her eyes.

Noah: I know things had been so busy and crazy ever since we've got back, but I want to make this official. On my birthday I said that you didn't have to answer right away. But I was hoping that you've had tine to think about it. No matter what is that you're concerned about, I believe that we can get past anything!

Noah handed her the boqeut of roses and she felt her cheeks burning.

Noah: Lia, I'm so madly in love with you. Would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend? We may have to keep things a secret at the company for a while. But I can't wait to take romantic trips with you and introduce you to my friends!

Noah took her hand in his and she heard his thoughts:

Noah: Should I have done this? What if she says no? I'm so nervous. This is a big step. I don't want to scare her off, I want to be able to call her mine!

Lia: Awww how sweet. he's nervouse to tell me how he really feels. Of course, we can be together. You make me so happy. but I don't want things to get weired, mabey we hold off on the trips and meeting your friends for a while?

Noah: I understand love! I'm just happy to be able to cal you my girlfriend!

Noah leaned down and kisses her sweetly. After puttjng the roses in a vase Noah joined her on the couch.

Noah: It's still a little early, love. What would you like to do?

Lia: How about we watch a movie!

Noah: Whatever movie you want!

She found a movie on a streaming service and cuddled up next to her boyfriend to watch it.

She was on her way into the office, thinking back happily on her tike with Noah.

Lia: It's been a couple of weeks since he and I officially began dating. but the time had just flown by. I never realized someone could make me so happy just by being around them. This feels like Noah could be mine forever.

She was lost in her thoughts that she was startled when she heard an someone's voice called out to her.

???: Did you enjoy the magic dear?

Surprised she turned to see the strange old women with the crystal ball.

Lia: What's she doing here?!
