The Zombie Apocalypse (Part 1)
Five friends Shaurya, Sattvick, Rishan, Samira and Chetan were immigrants living in Spain. Shaurya and Sattvick were policemen in the Spanish government whereas Rishan and Chetan became a civil servant and a chief commander respectively. Samira became a scientist. Meanwhile, an infamous American scientist emigrated to Spain named James was working on a new experiment in which he would use dead corpses to make new human beings so that the population rose, which at that time was at an all time low. He informed the masses that this experiment will change the course of history and be revolutionising for the mankind. Spain was excited for this new development, and the news was buzzing around, even amongst the 5 friends. They all gathered in Samira’s room after work, Samira exclaimed, “The thing scientist James is coming up with is revolutionary, I wonder how he’s going to do it…” Sattvick, who was known amongst his friends to be the pessimistic one out of the group said in his usual tone, “I’m skeptical about the whole damn thing, what’s the point of interfering with nature’s course like that!?” Samira, her scientist self defending said, “For once you should be happy that a scientist from Spain is going to make such a massive development, population right now is extremely low and we need this, if he succeeds, Spain will be written in the course of history” Sattvick, agitated muttered under her breath, “He’s not even Spanish, American immigrant..”
Scientist James, was now reaching the final stages of his experiment and now was the time for the most crucial chemical to be added which would cause the dead corpse to come back to life. Only he had been a bit careful, his name would be etched in the “good-side” of history forever, his slight error cost him his life. Only if he had known this would be it, the end of him and his experiments. The corpse, instead of being a perfect human turned out to become a dead, rotten corpse woken up from his eternal slumber. Scientist James body, infected with the “zombie-like creature”’s bite morphed into something horrid himself. Reporters and cameramen outside of his bunker awaiting the good news were also infected. The whole country, anticipating this news were throw into confusion. The government couldn’t understand exactly what had happened at the experiment site that day, still with the duty of being responsible to the public mentioned that the experiment had gone wrong and an explosion had killed scientist James and the reporting crew.
There was a sudden silence spread across Spain and the world, the failure of the experiment which was going to bring boon to the world and the death of their beloved scientist, scientist James had caused dismay amidst the people. Little did they know, that the real trouble was going to begin now. In the dead fall of night, in the empty streets walked over the dead to spread their infectious disease to the masses.
In no time, the whole city was infected, such powerful was their bite. A few safe citizens remained, no one knew about the zombies, the ones who had seen it had been infected. The city went silent. The next day, there were dead corpses lying everywhere, the streets, house, hotels. The few news reporters who had been spared were filming and buzzing all around the place. Soon a crew of scientists, including Samira, were sent over to scientist James’s bunker to inspect the reality of the situation when they came up with the conclusion that these corpses, instead of becoming a perfect human remained in their dead, rotten form but came back to life. Panic-stricken, the government at once announced a lockdown. The 5 friends, who had survived the first wave of infection were locked in their homes left to mull over the terrible situation that had struck Spain. A Zombie Apocalypse, what a thing to befall Spain.
At once, the governors called a meeting in the great hall of the government building, it hosted the scientists, Air forces, military officers and doctors. The governor began his speech, "Dear Collegues, we are informed that this is a situation of a zombie apocalyspe, our major concern is our citizens lying dead and infected on the grounds of Spain! I believe we need to tackle this problem step-by-step by creating a seperate organisation who would look after this problem called the, "The National Research Organisation of Spain that looks for Horrific Monsters and Dead Corpses" within the "National Spain Health Organisation" We will allocate our budget to focus ont he issue at hand." And walked away from the mike. Soon after, delegates were chosen to work in the programme and coincidentially enough the 5 friends were involved in it. Sattvick annoyed at the fact muttered, "What nonsense is this!?" Samira, annoyed retorted, "Just stop! The citizens fo Spain are our major concern right now, stop complaining!"
