Sant: An Incredible Boy (Episode 1)
*Birth of Sant*
Many children may sit at their study table and doodle in their notebooks or gaze out the window. Instead of studying, they get lost in their imaginations, thinking about the past and future. Among these wonderful, curious thinkers, you can find me. I almost always couldn't resist my reckless mind, creating stories and diving deeper into imaginary worlds.
I can't forget that fateful night in December 2008 when I took out my storybook instead of my academic book. I was going to write a story about a superhero-like boy going on an adventure. But I was struggling to find a name for this hero. In the meantime, my mother shouted at me for not studying for my exams. Instead of listening to her, I wrote my name, "Santanu" with a pencil in the corner of a page. Then I saw that the last 3 letters of my name were blurred, and only "Sant" appeared. That's when I thought, let me go with "Sant" as the main character. While my mom was still scolding me, I had to pick up my English book over my storybook. There, I found the word "incredible". I loved this word; it meant something not easy to believe, which relates to my imaginary and strange worlds. It could be thrilling to have incredible powers for the hero. That's when I decided to keep the title "Sant: An Incredible Boy". I wanted to make a story like Harry Potter, but I hadn't watched many of those movies and had only heard about his powers and influences. I spent the whole night thinking about how to write a novel of the same genre. The next day was Sunday, so I had lots of free time to start writing it. I thought about the main characters, their developments, the antagonists, and their adventures, and thus started writing it.
