First born of mother nature,
in fact, her favorite child.
Endowed with so many resources.
From you, the thirsty drink
out of you, the hungry eat
you are a source of livelihood to many.
Breaking the wind to protect man,
hands raised in permanent hallelujah
to the One who made the universe.

With your presence, you adorn every corner of the planet
making even void plains feel like home
you're one of the first things the infant learns to draw
strokes and lines, even with all the flaws.
You've been since time immemorial
before us, you were
after us, you still remain
hands waving in the breeze
thanking on our behalf, He who made the earth.
