Silver Light
I hide my pain until the day is done.
The healing process has just begun.
I let the pale light slip in
and let the night begin.
Silent tears slip down my cheek
I hear the floorboards creak.
Someone's coming, I pretend to sleep.
Into the room they peek and leap.
Soon they leave
and I continue to grieve.
The silence is deafening
but this is just the beginning.
I let the silver moonlight soak up the pain, the pain which always comes back again.
Night has swept in
my patience is wearing thin.
I soak my pillow,
I start to recover slow.
Goodbye I whisper to the silver light,
soon the sun is shining bright.
Morning has come so soon
I wish I could still see the moon.
I didn't sleep a single bit
I get out of bed the room is well-lit.
Soon this sunny day will end
then out will come my good old friend
The moon who listens as I cry
the moon who watches time fly by.
I'll wait until the next night
when another silver night
with silver light
and a moon so bright
will come and take flight.
