Slumber Sleep
When the eve in shadows of red,
Drifts me towards my nightly bed,
Half the time in weariness tread,
Sun bids farewell, moonlit leads.

In the night, as I lay in bed,
Before the eyes rest and deepened.
Staring the ceiling for a second,
contemplations and gratitude embed,
Reflecting on tales, in dhikr I'm led,
Reverie of tomorrow's story shades,
Uncertain and untrodden, I narrate.

Only the night feels my day's weight,
Amidst pillows and blankets, innate,
On damp floor, in the dimly lit bed,
My slumber has begun deep, gently gait.

Distress dropped behind the veil of plea,
Pause from day's touches, dreams set free.
Let dreams play the imagination's spree.

Fall me to sleep in tranquility's sphere,
Wake me halfway, as dawn draws near,
Seeking ablution remnants in sincerity
In stillness, two rakats of non-obligatory.

Following paths of recurring dreams' chore,
Wiping tears of surah Ar-Rahman's lore,
Vent my longing with the moon's explore,
Vanishing in the azan's call, evermore.
Stars retire in the morning's bliss,
My soul at peace in divine tryst.
