THE WOMAN IN THE CROWD

The day dawns a million and one people wake up,
trudging... trudging,
Going about their lives.

This one to that place, that one to another place
They move, unknown to them like a mighty army
A mighty aimless army?
The watcher observes, silently
Where are they are going?

What would become of them?
How would they end up?
Keeping close scrutiny he waits

Then... there at the corner, is a young woman
Hey! What’s going on?
Who is she?
This woman, there’s something about her
But what?
As the watcher observes
She moves

There’s something about this woman that draws attention
More attracting
More compelling

More thought provoking
Than the almost aimless trudging of the masses
And onward she goes

And still he observes

Suddenly she fell
Oh!
A hard fall

She’s on the ground
But so oblivious to the masses
She’s going to be trampled under foot

Someone stand her up!
Someone help her!!

But who?
Who will help this woman?

Who¿
Who¿¿

Who¿¿¿

Where are the strong hearted people?
Where have the kind hearts gone?
Where have the admirable personalities gone?

Where?
Where??

Where???

Oh there’s one
He’s going to help her for sure
He passed her
Does he not see her
Does he not see?

Oh there’s another
He will surely help her
Oh he’s passed too

This one will
Hmmm passed too

Where are all the admirable hearts gone
Where are all the kind hearts gone?

Where!
Where!!
Where!!!

Slowly she gets up
Painfully she gets up

It was tough

Oh yes it was hard

But she got up
And onward she moved

And moved
And moved...
