BONELESS GRIP
The world was bright, my future sure
My life ahead looked great and pure
I thought I had found a new bliss
Until it all came to this
For love's grip suddenly fell away
Tears spilled from my eyes all day
It felt like my heart was torn in two
And I didn't know what else to do
I watched our bond break before me
Gone with it all our joys and glee
No words of comfort or sweet embrace
To make my heartache go away in its place
Still, the pain serves as reminder
That time won't erase my hurt or cinder
But even in the bleakest moments so low
