lose their balance,
Goddesses slip in mud,
and Queens choose the wrong fork.

Don’t put me on no pedestal.
I refuse to be responsible
for unrealistic expectations
and deathly sensations.

Angels are dark
and devils are full of light;
beings are fallible…
even those with that Sight.

Don’t put me on no pedestal;
search my soul instead.
So, we can stand
on the battlefield,
back to back, hand in hand.
ready to fight with whatever
that might be brave enough
to take a stand.
Don’t put me on no pedestal;
I don’t belong there.
I have blood in my teeth,
fingers clenched tight,
and life tangled all up in my hair.

Don’t put me on no pedestal,
you won’t know who I am.
I am ancient and full of flaws
that speak in tongues of other times,
with sharp jagged claws.

Don’t put me on no pedestal.
I’m tired of falling off
cause of preconceived notions,
lacking no truth,
but s whole lot of emotion.

Don’t put me on no pedestal.
Pedestals aren’t meant to hold
warriors and otherworldly things,
I will never belong there.
Instead put me
in sight of souls.
I'll be content to sit and stare.
