9 months
As she stares through cracked glass, of a window full of rain
She doesn’t feel she can last, not much her remains
Every night she would get lost, in a world of misery
Forever she will pay a cost, her hope has lost its key
9 months she had waited, for her only baby to arrive
Her heart was so elated, its joy on overdrive
For 9 months she did glow, happiness no masquerade
For 9 months her eyes would show, she was waiting for the day
On a starlit night in June, there was excitement in the air
She prayed beneath the moon; she knew the birth was nearby the early morning light, a young mother feels a pain
Something didn’t feel right, her excitement quickly drained
Crying loudly from her bed, all alone in this world
Cotton sheets turning red, she’s losing her baby girl
She wakes in a hospital gown, a dark room with beeping screens
The nurses wearing frowns, in her heart she starts to scream
Doctors tried with all their worth, it was a fatality
Her baby girl died at birth, ends her reality
It’s been 5 painful years, she will never be the same
A cavalcade of tears, her perpetual rain
Tonight she’s by herself, heart is torn, and broken
Emotions are in hell, words left unspoken
Here in this hotel room, far from any grace
A young mother with her doom, hope has been displaced
