An Animal with Two Tails
An Animal with Two Tails
(A poem for children)

"Mummy, I saw an animal in the Zoo,
Perhaps you've seen it too,
He was huge and fat,
Many times bigger than a cat;

His eyes were very small
Much smaller than golf ball,
He kept blinking all the while,
Continuously wagging his long tail;

You see, he had tails two,
Im not lying, its true,
The tail at the back was thin,
The thick one was below his chin;

He drank water with the front tail
From a huge green pail,
He drank too much water,
Did that make him fatter?

He made a booming sound
While turning round and round,
The keeper came running in
Hearing the noise and the din;

He gave the animal a banana bunch,
Probably it was for his lunch,
In a minute, the whole thing he ate,
To eat a whole bunch is really great!

What do you call him with two tails
Who drinks water from huge pails,
Who has very small eyes
And whose legs are like big thighs?"

Mummy dear laughed aloud
And hugged her son beloved,
"Oh! Dear, Elephant is his name,
In the zoo, he is quite tame;

The elephant has tail only one,
The front one is called a trunk, my son,
The tail is at the back of him,
It is the one that is slim."
