The difference
between those few short hours
from the still of night
of early dawn
here now
the noise I wish
abated
yet
it's full throttle ahead
as traffic zooms past
no time to stop
as I remember
just a few hours ago
there was I
in the still
of life
where peace resigned supreme
where thoughts
were heard above all
and the wind
blew softly
against my window panes
now even it
has to up its game
if it too
wants to be heard
above life's push
and throttle
trainlines
never ending cho choo
and the skies
cry
iron birds pass by
nonchalantly so
nonchalantly
so
I listen
to the sounds of life's
too and fro
patiently waiting
yet again
for the still
for
the still
