On this day my debt was paid,
On this day a nail was peirced through a man's skin,
On this day, someone was flogged for my sake,
On this day blood and water flowed richly from a man's body,
On this day someone exchange my condemnation for eternal life,
that wonderful person is JESUS,
There he was,
on a cross,
crucified and in so much pain,
he was beaten,
he was cursed by others,
people turned on him,
but he still let love prevail,
and he died on that old and rugged cross,
what a man with so much love in his heart,
if only the world would reciprocate that love back to him.
