Hemlock Heaven
My Love and I, my Love and I
lay down in a field, look up at the sky
hands crossed, the dew feels like frost
and we both have a tear in our eye.
We smile, and the warmth in a sigh
falls over us in the quiet wavering rye
birds serenade, scarlet sunrise displayed
and we drift on clouds that sail by.
My Love and I, my Love and I
decades together to treasure, lucky guy
but hemlock is slow, we didn't know
one last adventure and our choice to die.
