What Does Little Birdie Say?
What does little birdie say,
In her nest at peep of day?
Which was against my window sil,
And I would sit there, very still,
Watching as her mother built a nest,
And days after, she would lay her eggs,
From there, a beautiful chick,
Her mother adored her every bit,
And so did I, but far away,
I couldn't wait to see her fly away,
For she had wings and had come of age,
But alas, her mother never came,
And day after day, she would squack and squeel,
For her mother and for her meal,
Perhaps I wonder what did the little birdie say,
To her mother at the peep of that day,
Ever so slowly, she would flap her tiny wings,
Till the wind would carry her as she sings,
And not long after, she was gone,
To speak to her mother whom she so longed.
