Love and Words
Words possess love. But love is more than words.
How can such simple syllables
scratch beyond the surface that sits above
my capacity for love. My capacity for you.
Love and words run together like salt and snow.
That’s the beautiful dichotomy of human connection:
I tell you how ‘I love you’ in words
that barely do half of my feelings justice.
The remaining lay stranded, intangible
in a deep, grey area that my actions, my fingertips,
my poetry and my tongue
sought to spend their lifetime navigating.
In an act of love beyond words,
