Why do nice guys always finish last?
This is something I'll never understand,
While the undeserving avoid the dark even if it's overcast,
The type who win at poker even though they hold the worst hand,
They could win the lottery without even playing,
Take a walk in the rain yet somehow stay dry,
The type to get away with murder after confessing,
Get their dream job even though they don't even qualify,
Smoke and drink every day and live to be one hundred,
Marry their soul mate after betraying every person they ever dated,
Never feel what it's like to be betrayed even though they always cheated,
Be treated like royalty even though nothing anyone ever did was ever appreciated,
Just once I'd like to see the nice guy skate by without any cracks in the ice,
Glide by without running into any obstacles,
Never knowing the feeling of having to sacrifice,
Living their entire life unscathed because of their guardian angels.
