Sparrows
They hop, they flit,
or fly, and they sit,
displaying adorable nature...
Are these fluttery creatures.

They rummage the seeds,
trying to hold it in beaks,
fighting for the feeding place,
having the best of the supplies

They toss and twirl,
when their tummy is filled,
as they play with each other,
a way of social interactions.

Sparrows...

Once commonplace,
Now, rare and infrequent,
so, every encounter is joyous,
like a sight to our sore eyes.

Habitat destruction, had its role,
buildings, devoid of eaves & crannies,
also the losses of home gardens,
use of pesticides, too were the culprits.

So, let us support, our avian friends,
who accompanied us in childhood,
bringing liveliness, in our routines,
and we enjoy again...their gatherings.
