Today is April Fool's Day,
I'm a prankster my friends and colleagues say,
I enjoy certain days that are unique,
Just out of fun my mind plots a scheme...

Told a colleague that a payment was delayed,
An issue that the vendor has escalated,
Colleague started giving explanation,
Told me he tried to remedy the situation,
I kept staring at him, making him nervous,
At accounts team he got furious,
I burst into laughter for it was just a play,
Heartily wished him "April Fool's Day!"

Called my mom to play a prank,
Told her there won't be water for 4 days straight,
We have no water storage because supply is 24hrs a day,
Panicked, she started to think of a way,
Called her back to say 'Happy Fool's Day!'

Another victim of my prank was one of my friend,
Built up so much, she left her meeting midway,
Told her she betrayed my trust,
Worried she said, "Never, I'm innocent,"
Showed her a message as a proof,
The message read "It's 1st April, you fool!"

Such a fun beginning to a regular day,
Broke the monotony in a harmless way,
Troubled them a bit with a poker face,
They breathed a sigh of relief on hearing "It's April Fool's Day!"
