The organization's men were caught off guard, and a chaotic scuffle ensued. Mon and I ducked behind a crate, watching as the police took control of the situation.
In the midst of the commotion, the man who had offered us the deal tried to slip away, but Mon was faster. He tackled him to the ground, knocking the wind out of him.
"You're not going anywhere," Mon growled, pinning the man down.
As the dust settled and the last of the organization's men were handcuffed,
Detective Lee approached us, a wry smile on his face.
"Good thing you two are stubborn," he said. "We got them all, thanks to you."
The man on the ground spat out a mouthful of blood and glared at us. "You think you've won? This is bigger than you can imagine. You can't stop it."
