A Legend Lost
Soumitra is no more, Feluda is no more. Apu said goodbye. The doyen of Bengali cinema, who had fought for life at the hospital for 40 days, received a king's farewell with thousands joining his cortege.
Soumitra Chatterjee was an actor who was also a thinker, a cerebral voice, a writer to reckon with. Soumitra was bengal's pride. Chatterjee made his mark in Indian cinema with his associations with Oscar-winning filmmaker Satyajit Ray.  He has gifted us with over 50 films. This screen legend portrayed each character better than the other. Apur Sansar, Abhijan, Chatulata, Aranyer Din Ratri, Joy Baba Felunath, Sonar Kella, Ghare Baire, Parineeta. Legion of Honour, Dadasaheb Phalke, Banga Bibhushan, Padma Bhushan and several national awards. The mark he has made in the Cinema industry can never be removed. He has made movies from all genres. I consider myself lucky to witness a living legend. Soumitra's work has always been beyond expectations and has left us spellbound.
On 15th November 2020, 12:15 pm Soumitra took his last breath. A soul had left the body.
Condolence to his family and near ones.
