Bond of Love
Note: All the characters in my story are imaginary and bear no resemblance to anyone.
There lived a young couple in the city of Lucknow. They had everything in life one could ask for. A comfotable home,a stable job and above all abundant love for each other. Years passed by happily but one longing was always there. "To have a child ". One who they could call their own,shower all their love ,a child who would add more life to their home. But as fate had it sealed,Abha could not conceive. They tried all the best treatments ,consulted the very best doctors but in vain. One year more passed and all seemed futile. Then they decided to adopt a child. Provide a home to a homeless baby ,give him all the love and affection he so deserved.
Luck was in their favour and after a month they adopted a cute ,healthy baby boy. Their life changed. A home that was quiet once was filled with bubbly laughter and cries of the child. Very lovingly they named him Arav. Years flew by and Arav was now in college. Abha lost her husband due to an illness a few years back and she single handedly took care of her son's needs. She was an employee in the railways , she spent all her savings on Arav's education and he became an engineer. He grew up into a handsome boy and Abha really doted on him. After all he was all she had in her life.
After completing his education Arav got a job in a very good company in Bangalore. He was reluctant to leave Abha alone but she insisted . She would visit him whenever she could and he would also come over when he got leave. So wishing her son well and with a heavy heart she bade him farewell. After Arav left she felt very alone,but deep down in her heart she knew she had to face it. " It is for the future of my son " she consoled herself. Months passed by and both got busy in their jobs and lives. Arav visited her whenever he could and she waited for his visits very eagerly.
Two years sped by and one day she received a call from Arav telling her that he had fallen in love with a girl from his office and they wanted to get married with her blessings. She was overjoyed. She told him she would love to meet the girl . She flew to Banglore and a simple wedding took place. Now she had a daughter too. She felt blessed and thanked God again and again. After the couple had settled with their new life Abha came back to Lucknow.
By now she had retired from her job and had plenty of free time on her hands. She decided to join an NGO for teaching poor children. As the classes were in the evening and NGO was not very far from her house ,she preffered walking. " Its good I exercise my limbs at this age " she would tell Arav whenever he scolded her for not taking a cab. One late evening while returning home she was crossing the road when a speeding car hit her and sped away. She fell down unconscious.
