Take me back in time
I wanna go back in time to the days when I was but a child.
Back when I never knew of how hellish the world truly is. When I didn't know just how inadvertently abusive my parents were, inspire of their best intentions.
To the dream where I believed being a good, obedient, and hard working boy would set me up for a great life; despite my lack of practical skills.
Before the sweet illusion faded and the, seemingly, bleak reality showed itself, little by little, piece by piece, until the shadows of the cold and cruel parts of the world covered my own. My child-like wonder overshadowed by worries and anxieties. A future once brighter than the sun, now a dark abyss.
Take me back to the days I looked up to them like titans, not unreliable figures who can't raise a child properly if their lives depended on it.
