The Act of Nigerian politics
At midday, roasted by the violent rays of the sun,
I rushed to the room for the shelter from the roof,
I layed facing the mapped Celine staring at a world unknown.
Sounds as of a stopping train bedevils my thoughts as I try to figure out who and what was the bungle.
Diaphoresis was the diagnosis as I turn to on the fan for there was no light(electricity)
From the radio, I found interest; seated in high places, as large sizes of bow they pushed their stomach, discussing politics today
Then I asked myself, fighting to focus my thoughts, I asked myself: was there democracy? Is this democracy? Will there be democracy? Did we ever choose?
As I outlook all the elections I've experienced.
A circle of the same corrupt men, gambling as novice our future.
We cry, murmur, complain and regret to our choice but sooner forget their mischief.
For the lust of the flesh we campaign even in churches these evil men?
My head aches more to these:
Are the masses this weak? Can't they come together to choose a noble figure... ? Must he be rich? Can't the mases sponsor someone ?
To our resources they enslave us to partake... Can't something be done?
Are the religious bodies this weak? Is there no righteous man (leader) in the church? Or is the mosque pervert?
I cry as we forget how these figures frustrates us and we foolishly allow them to still decide "give us option among themselves ".
I pray we come to the point of understanding and send a messager for us and not fighting over the same evil men...
