The Curse of the peculiar Banana
Whilst investigating the death of a local scout, a sympathetic private detective called Forest Randall uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, peculiar banana circulating throughout Africa. As soon as anyone uses the banana, he or she has exactly 365 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look upside-down. A marked person feels like a magical maggot to touch.
Forest gets hold of the banana, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into his mind: a skinny pigeon balancing on a giant scout, an old newspaper headline about a golfing accident, a hooded donkey ranting about ankles and a drinking well located in a beautiful place.
When Forest notices his warts have maggot-like properties, he realises that the curse of the peculiar banana is true and calls in his grandmother, a cleaner called Mary Vader, to help.
Mary examines the banana and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the skinny pigeon balancing on a giant scout particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Forest and Mary pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded donkey. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
