The case of the missing safe was the only thing about which the whole village of Poppypardon talked. Every villager was worried that if the richest man's house which was the most secure place in the village, wasn't safe, were their houses safe? Where was the burglary going to happen next?



It had happened on the 23rd of Feb, when Mrs. Amelia Acker, went to her closet room to take out her most expensive diamond necklace from her safe. That's when she found out that the safe was missing.



The safe contained Mr. Acker's money and jewels as well as Mrs. Acker's expensive gems and jewels which her father had gifted her.



She rushed to the village constable and reported to him about her missing safe. He searched for the missing safe in the whole town but he couldn't find it anywhere. It was ordered by him that the Acker mansion was not to be entered until the whole place was searched up by forensics.



Mr. Harris Acker, a businessman, who had gone to the city for a business deal had just arrived the night before the incident happened.



The main suspect was the maid. The maid as usual had entered through the backdoor early morning through the spare key. After making breakfast she told Mrs. Amelia that she would be leaving for the week, to go to her mother's who lived in another village.



After the maid left the milkman arrived. After inquiring in the neighborhood, it was found out that the milkman was seen going to the back of the house everyday for twenty days, only to come back after an hour or so.



Half the village stood outside the police station where the milkman was being questioned.
