The streetlights were dim as the mist enclosed it in its mysterious grip. She peered out of her window into the darkness, was there someone out there or was it her imagination?
The shadow was in her lawn infront of the home and that too behind the tree which was her favourite spot.
"Hello, whose there??" she called out but no one answered. And then suddenly in the blink of an eye, the shadow disappeared. She was shocked. How does it happen??
"It must be a illusion i think"she thought.
Then as she was about to shut the window, she again saw that shadow but now near the bushes at her door. She was confused and afraid. Who might that be??
She called her husband Abhishek but he didn't picked up. He was on a defence trip to US and must be in a meeting right now due to different time zones. Then she tried to call her neighbour but even she didn't picked her phone. She was worried so she decided to go and check.
She covered herself in the woollen robe and stepped outside. The shadow was again gone.
"Is someone out there??" she called out...But no one replied, just the wooshing of cold wind. She looked all around the house but no one was there. A bit confused, she turned towards the door to go inside when suddenly she felt as if someone was behind her.. just few inches away. She can feel someone's breath on her neck.
She got stoned in her place. Drops of sweat appeared on her forehead. Who was there??...She slowly turned her head to peep behind... Suddenly her hand was stretched behind at a painful angle. Someone was holding her wrist and twisted her whole arm. She got frightened and started screaming.

"HELP HELP!!!!! " she cried and then her hand was free....she ran inside and locked the door behind her. She was very scared. She saw her wrist and finger marks were there.
She hurriedly went to her bedroom and called Abhishek again. He didn't picked up. She went straight to the bed and covered herself head to toe with the blanket.
Suddenly she heard the sound of opening of her bedroom door. She got frightened. Her heart started to beat very fast. Who was there??...and then the most dreadful thing happened. She felt someone upon her ...lying on her....she tried to remove the blanket from her face to look but she wasn't able to. She started crying and screaming simultaneously.
"Noooooo, Nooooooo"
"Baby, it's me. it's me. what happened.... SURPRISE...!!!!" Abhishek said laughing...
"Oh look at your face, nice drama of mine na??...u got scared na??"Abhishek laughed.

"Abhii ....abhiii... you were there the whole time??...Scaring me??.".she asked breathing heavily.

"Yeah love, it was me...okk, I'm sorry. I agree, I got a bit carried in my acting. Really sorry jaann". Abhishek said.

"No, no it's ok". She hugged him tightly.

"Hey love, what happened to your wrist and what are these marks as if someone twisted it?? "Abhishek asked in worry.

It was like she had a heart stroke right there.

"You said, y-you w-were scaring me?..s-so you t-twisted my hand in-n t-the l-lawn na d-dear!???!!!?????" She asked frightened.

"No love, I just came right now directly to our bedroom" said abhishek.

It was as if she felt drowning. The shadow, the breath on her neck, the hand, was she thinking or it was real?? Who was there if not him?????
