"It's a girl! "
The doctor gushed, placing the wailing infant on the woman's chest.
She heaved trying to catch her breath in the aftermath of her gruelling labour. Tears of pain mingled briefly with tears of joy before dissolving into tears of sadness.
She had once again given birth to a girl! Her third daughter. What would her husband and in-laws do to her now?... Yes it was his husband who started. to scream and scold at his wife. Tears rolled on her cheeks and she tried her best to make him and his in laws understand but still they didn't give attention her words.
Aftersometime his husband came to the ward where his baby girl was, at that time the wife was asleep. A beam of moonlight entered the ward and it was the only light that helped the husband to take the child in his hand. He crawled and startled and started to shiver because his wife turned towards him. He quietly took the baby and went came out of the ward. He ran to the street carrying the baby in his hand. He stared at the baby and the baby also stared him. He realised that something was there that was hesitating him to take the baby and throw in the 'dustbin'. Yes you heard the right 'THROW IN THE DUSTBIN' He has planned to throw the baby in the dustbin earlier but now he hesitated. It's the true love for the baby, no matter he didn't want a girl but the BLOOD RELATION will always be a hurdle between LOVE AND ENEMITY. While he was returning back he bought a pair of clothes for the baby and made her wear those. He went to the ward and placed the baby as it is. He felt the breadth of his wife still so nervous in fear. Next morning the wife woke up and the baby was crying terribly. She did not say anything but only said that " Sleep my dear baby your father has bought u new clothes". His wife knew everything about the last night but neither her lips nor her eyes showed anything!!........
