Into The Light
Writco Rapid Prompt #1
(Write a story that involves light or darkness in some way)

The light and darkness she could no longer tell the difference of anymore. The light and the datk blended in too well making her days and nights gray. In her own mind every morning and every night was the same. Unsure of what was coming next brought about much anxiety. She was often a saddened woman. Saddened of herself and saddened by the 8 year marriage that she was in. Just what had become of them. Their instabilty stemmed from hard drugs. First him. Then her. Uncomfortable, Unhappy, High, and Stagnant day in and day out.

They together lost their apartment due to financial hardships that came from the wife losing her job. The husband said he tried but she didn't see it. What she did see was him getting further and further into his addiction. One evening she grew fed up with this unstable life with her husband. She voiced her displeasure to her husband in previous days and such conversations always started calmly but way more often than not her concerns and honesty would only lead to a fight between them both. A verbal argument that always turned physical. She learned that this would always be the outcome for her voicing her opinion and it caused her to become quiet. Imstead of just sitting around she would read on psychology and take notes with paper and pen to give her insight to who she was. She both upset with her husband and her ownself for all the toleration.

One evening her last putburst towards him was full of rage she sat on the bed of their rented room writing trting to take her mind off of what they were going through. Her husband aching for drugs. She ached for him. He wanted to leave to go find drugs abd she was against it. "Stay with me" she asked her husband. "Nah why don't you stay here and do your lil writing" her husband replied. She was taken back. Did he not realize that writing was what was keeping her from completely going crazy. He turns his back to walk out the door and the wife yells "That's why we are the way we are, your priorities are fucked up". In this momemt she forgot about all their previous physical fights. In that moment she didn't care. Her husband opens the door and is greeted by the local police..they take one look at his wife and one cop instantly pulls out his cuffs and arrests her husband. She was told them members of the home called the police overhearing their fight.

She had seen the police before where they previously resided over the same issue in the past. He went to jail for battery assault and he blamed her. She completes a police statement and off they went with her husband in the back seat of the car on his way to jail. This time she wouldn't drop the charges. What would she do now? Which way would she go?

Towards the light, coming out of the dark tunnel she found herself living in with her husband. She had seen the light at the end of the tunnel where peace and contentment was she felt. However, for 8 years she stated hoping and wishing for positive change. She wanted it.

The light never ever stopped beaming within her.

Where would the light take her.

Her journey leaving darkness into the light began.
