Draper of Dragonslayers

The blossom of gentle breeze feels the air of madness. "Hello, are you the night that comes to take my spirit?"
"No, I am the slayer and you are the prey". Dancing in shadows hidden the monarch sent the warning of death to the dragons.
"Joshyael, come forth and bring the weapon of choice... a dragon has been spotted and games be afoot". King Fry had always wanted the prize of the dragon so the scales could be used to free his wife from every slumber.
"My lord, what pray shall I tell the townspeople of thy warning?", Joshyael replied.
"Tell them nothing", King Fry answered with greed beneath his smile.
Joshyael rode into the night and danced the traps of catching hidden in the swamp. The story goes; he that slayeth the dragon will inherit it's powers of everlasting life. But the one to take the scales, is the one who inherits it's magic.
Joshyael hid deep in the swamp, a dark place of mystery and waited. *swoosh*... *swoosh*.
He raised his bow of tipped poison and blessing of the King.. and fired as the beast landed. *snarl*
Joshyael ran toward the prize but atlas,.. The beast was holding the arrow of poison.
"Tell me of thy dreams and I will make thee a kindness, if you but spare my life.. I will spare yours".. the dragon spake.
Surprised, that the dragon could talk, Joshyael sat. Mystical the swamp transformed and world's of colors swarmed the moss colored trees.
"I am but the slayer... what would I want to be as king?" Joshyael replied.
"Every man is wanting.. and due his reward of grace", The dragon replied.
"If I tell thee.. what then shall the price be?" Joshyael spoke.
"Of wonders and glory and they soul granted mystic gifts".
The dragon's voice spoke in multiple and frightened Joshyael just a little.
"The prize!". And without hesitation Joshyael sprang forth with sword drawn and stabbed the dragon in the heart.
A mist formed from nowhere and as it cleared.. Joshyael was transformed into a dragon.
