Would You Kill For Love?

Heaven Bradly had to practically beg her mom to get a tarot deck. She found this used deck online. It finally came in the mail. Just in time for Imbolc. She needed the tarot to communicate with her Goddess Brigid to help her with a love spell, to attract her one true love. She just joined Wicca. However, she did not believe she needed protection or in the three fold law. Magic was not good or evil. It really did not matter what you chose to use magic for. There was nobody, not even her Goddess or God who was keeping track of what she did.
She gathered her materials and turned on some music. She put red, orange, and yellow candles in their crystal candle holders. She put red crystals of various kinds on her alter. A silver, white, and black cloth with a triple moon symbol laid underneath them. She prepared an offering of bread, cinnamon, and milk and also laid it on the alter.
She opened her tarot card deck. They had these strange pictures on them with numbers and names. When she got to The Lovers card, she smiled and started shuffling the deck. She called upon her Goddess Brigid to guide her hand saying, “Oh Goddess Brigid, Maiden Goddess of Imbolc. This is your day. Help guide me, so that I may know myself to find my one true love. The one who speaks to my heart. Tell me, how do I give my heart to him.”
“Would you kill for love?” She heard a voice say.
“What? Who said that?” She said out loud.
“Ok, it must be just my imagination.”
She placed four cards in the shape of a cross that was suppose to represent Brigid’s cross. She placed the rest of deck beside her.
“Heaven.” A voice called to her.
“What? Mom, did you call me?” She yelled from inside her room.
“No dear.”
“What the hell?”
She dismissed the sudden interruption and looked to see what was next. It was time to see what cards she drew. The first card was The Chariot. This card represented her offering to Brigid. According to the meaning of the card, this meant letting go of anything that didn't serve her, such as fear. It was telling her to move forward and not worry about anything or anyone who went against her.
“Would you kill for love?”
“Whose there? Who said that? Hello.” Shaking her head, she continued her reading.
The second card she drew was reversed The Tower. This card meant facing her darkness and doing some Shadow Work with Brigid's guidance.
“Like, your heart?”
“Hey, you’re not funny. Whoever you are, just go away and leave me alone.”
She drew the third card. This card was suppose to be a message from Brigid. It was the Four of Wands. A celebration was going to be coming. For her the card meant she will soon be reunited with her true love. She flipped the final card over. It was the High Priestess. This card was indicating that she needed to just be herself and take charge of her intuitive side.
“Pick up the blade.”
She picked up the athame that laid next her. Wait how did that get there? She didn't even own an athame. She examined it. Black with gold wrapped around it's hilt.
“Place the blade over your heart.”
Strangely, she couldn't resist this all powerful force. The voice spoke with authority, yet seemed so seductive. She placed the blade over her heart.
“Would you kill for love?”
Going against her very will she felt herself say, “Yes.”
“Prove it, cut out your heart out and give it to me. Only than will you be worthy of my love.”
This must be a test of devotion from her true love. She didn't want to disappoint him. She raised the blade and stabbed into her chest, slicing it up until her heart was exposed. Oddly, she felt no pain. She took her hand and ripped out her heart. Blood covered her alter and floor.
With it still beating in her hand she asked, “Where are you, my love. I have done as you asked.”
“I am here. You have done well,” he came from the shadows.
Not quite a man, but not quite a demon. Half human and half demon.
“What is your name. I'm Heaven.”
“Well, Heaven, welcome to Hell,” she snatched her bleeding heart out of her hand and ate it. All her pain came rushing to her at once. Her body convulsed over her alter as she slowly bled out. When she stopped convulsing, her lifeless body hit the floor.
“Oh, does this mean I wasn't what you expected?”
He smirked and took the tarot deck and disappeared, like he was never there.
