The Day We Fell in Love

I lived in small town, but now we had to go. My father was being transferred to a big city. I did not want to leave. I thought that I wouldn't get friends to play with. I was unhappy. But nothing was in my hand.
The day had come, we left. The city was big. Our house was huge. I got my own room but I felt lonely. I felt left out.
Next morning, it was my first day in my new school. It had a playground, a garden and many other things. Our town school only had a school building. I entered my classroom. New faces, new rules, a new normal. The day went well but I only made one friend. We kept talking in between classes. He turned out to be my neighbour. I was overjoyed. I looked forward to our friendship. We returned home together. My mother was relieved that I was talking to people and I made friends. I met him on the park beside our houses. We sat in the bench and chatted for hours. I spoke about my town and all my friends their. He spoke about new thing I did not know about. We became good friends. We became comfortable around each other. We spend the weekends together. He visited my house and I visited his. Days were going well.
One year later.....
It was a evening. We were sitting in the park as usual, talking about dreams and future, changes in life. We were talking then he suddenly asked, ' Will we remain like this forever?' I answered, 'Yes! We will always remain best of friends'. We got up and walked on the soft green grass. The stars twinkled in the sky. We caught hands and kept walking. We almost came to the end. We stopped and looked up at the sky. After a while I turned to him, he turned to me. We looked into each other's eyes. I asked, 'Are we really just friends?' He answered back, 'No, we are more than that, you are really speacial to me. You are different from others. I like you very much.'
He needed to say no more because I knew perfectly what he meant. I smiled at him and he smiled back because he knew I understood him.
