Dear Rain, thank you for falling.
"For a moment like this some people wait a lifetime..."

This is truly the worst day of my life. It was bright and sunny a second ago and suddenly, rain pours down out of the blue. That's just my luck. And I left my umbrella at home too. I swear the universe hates me. I'm soaking wet and...agh...agh...scheew! No! I can't catch a cold now. I have a field hockey match tomorrow.
Jermain ran over to the bus stop for some shelter. Surprisingly, it was empty but then he remembered that he was at school for a while because it was his turn to clean up the classroom. About an hour had gone by and the universe was still against him; it was still raining.
It was getting dark and the cold wind ushered itself in. With my clothes barely dry I trembled with a bit of chill each time the wind passed by. Honestly, I just really want to go home and go straight to bed.
Someone is coming. It was a girl from my school. This late. Buy why? She had a black umbrella that seemed wide enough to fit more than one but not enough for two. She tilted it slightly in front to shield from the rain drops blowing in or maybe it was to hide her face. She had an eerie aroma that grew strong with each step she took and the rain seemed so much kinder now, as it slithered down the surface of her umbrella and kissed the edges.
I was drawn into a different world and it seemed I had lost all awareness of my present deplorable state. In what felt like a blink of an eye she reached the bus stop. She closed the umbrella and shook off the droplets that had been hanging on to her black shield. She took shelter beside me, not too close, but close enough to pump extra blood to my heart.
"Hi, my name's Jezel" she said in a tone that contrasted that of our environment and with a smile that replaced the sun.
"Hello. I'm Jermain. Nice to meet you" I replied, trying to maintain my compsure.
"How long have you been here Jermain?" she asked with sincerity
"Almost two hours. My feet are killing me and I'm hungry" I replied, making more statements that were required. She smiled at me.
"You poor thing. How far do you live?"
"I live in the Kelvin district, not too far from here. Why do you ask?" I said
"I knew it! I saw you on my way to school a few times. I just moved there" she exclaimed with a cute giggle. "I can walk you home since I have an umbrella"
I smiled at her. Her thoughtfulness was heartwarming. "But it's not big enough for us both" I said, in an effort to show my thoughtfulness as well.
"Nonsense! My umbrella is huge. Don't you want to walk with me? Do you have a girlfriend or something because I can back off if you want" She exclaimed while still maintaining that glow, a celestial glow.
"No no! It's not that" I quickly replied, to let her know I don't have a girlfriend. "I would really like it if you would walk home with me"
"Are you blushing Jermain?" she said, while giving a blush herself.
"I'm just dying to go home. Thanks a lot Jezel"
"Here, take it" she said as she handed me the umbrella. "Isn't the guy supposed to hold the umbrella?" Her smile grew wider and the chill I once felt was now replaced with a soul melting warmth.
As we walked home side by side she was now closer than before, much closer. It turns out the umbrella wasn't made for two and it became apparent to her, and she drew closer as to avoid the rain. The wind spat some droplets onto our faces.
"You have to tilt it forward genius" she said with a charming chuckle. "Like so"
She held my hand and maneuvered it to the appropriate position. One of the best ten seconds of my life. The rain still got to her shoulders opposite to my end. With a brave heart I took my free hand and placed it gently onto her shoulder in an attempt to shield her from the enemy. She focused her eyes onto mine and said "How thoughtful of you"
I was a knight in shining armour. Who am I kidding! I was the princess who got rescued by her. But no matter the case I was glad for this rain. It brought me her. In what felt like a touch from an angel, she placed her arm around me gripping tighter onto my body. We drew closer. We had to; to avoid the rain.
"Hunny! Hunny!"
"Ugh...what happened?"
"Are you really day dreaming on our wedding day? You're lucky I love you" she said with that same warm smile. "Your best man is almost done with his speech"
"....cheers to Jermain and Jezel. May there marriage be fruitful and they're love everlasting"
"Babe?"
"Yes dear" Jezel responded
"For a moment like this some people wait a lifetime. Since the day we met, I dreaded this day to come. You turned a bad day to a happy memory and you've been doing it ever since. That day we met, I was 100% sure the universe wasn't on our side; but now I know that it rained just for us"
THE END!
