I see you in a blur 9
Wednesday morning

Rebecca's POV

“This is so beautiful, Becca. It's perfect for the season, your painting fills our hearts with joy” one person commented.

I felt so proud of myself as everyone gathered to take a look at my painting.

“What does it mean?” I looked up, recognizing the voice as Noah's. “ I get its Christmas, but it just a plain painting of a baby in a manger, we all know that story. You could've painted Santa or something cooler” He continued.

“He's kidding Becca” I heard Ezra say from behind him.

“No it's fine, if he wants to know what it means, he should, right?” I asked, not directing the question at anyone in particular. “You know, I made five painting before deciding on this one. I had painted Santa as you said earlier, but this related to me the most”

“How?” Noah asked.

“This is baby Jesus in a manger. He didn't have to come, but he needed to. God didn't have to give him, but he needed to because of love. Isn't this what Christmas is about?, sharing love? Love is such a powerful word that I don't even understand enough, and love comes from a place of sacrifice. Sacrifice pain, fear, doubt and just love unconditionally. We have a choice to love and spread unconditional love, just as God loves us enough to give us his son. Do you understand?”

“That's quite deep Becca” Kiara, the choir leader said patting my back. As everyone began to disperse to do other things. Noah stood fixated in front of me. I wasn't able to tell if he was staring at me or taking in what I'd said, so I turned to leave.

“I don't understand” His voice made me turn back

“What don't you understand exactly?” I asked.

“Everything”

“Let's go outside”

We found a small bench and sat on it.

“What don't you understand?” I repeated.

“What love is there to spread?, how can I spread love when all I have is hurt, pain and disappointment” He said, his voice above normal

“Noah, look at me” He turned to face me. “What do you see?”

“What?” I rolled my eyes at his response. “I see Rebecca” He said hesitantly.

“No offense, but you're short-sighted. You only see things on the surface. When you focus only on yourself, your problem, they magnify and engulf you. They engulf your sight. They are miracles everywhere, love everywhere. You have a loving brother, a father who may have hurt you but is trying his best to fix your broken relationship. You have love everywhere, you just don't allow yourself to feel it” I looked up at him, trying to read his expression. Where are my glasses when I need them?” was he angry?
“I'm sorry, I spoke too much” I said, regretting my earlier choice of words”

“You're right, but you know nothing about my life” he said sadly, with that, he stood up, leaving me a little shocked.

Merry Christmas 😊 (This is late, but…)
