In a kingdom, there lived a very girl who was albeit of humble origins but had the most beautiful face in the world. Many men and suitors fell for her beauty and professed their love to her, but she rejected them all. The girl wanted to get married to a prince and be the princess of a castle.


So, she held out her heart, waiting for a handsome prince to fall in love with her. As fate would have it, the handsome prince soon came into her life. He proposed to marry her, and they tied the knot amidst all the people in the kingdom. She finally became a princess, and she was showered with gifts and presents from visitors.

The Reality Finally Sinks In
The princess was very happy with the shine and shimmer of her newly married life. But when that excitement wore off, she realised the actual truth. The prince was only handsome from the outside. Her husband was a mean tyrant who would boast around about his wife’s beauty and would treat people like they were nothing.


When the princess confronted her husband, he shifted the blame to her and said that she was fool enough to marry him for his looks and riches. He also confessed that even he married the girl for her beauty. The princess remembered all the noble and kind-hearted suitors she had rejected because she wanted to marry the prince. She felt her whole life being destroyed. The princess tried to run away, but the prince locked her in one of the cells.


The Princess Makes a Friend
As the princess was spending her days in the cell, her only respite was a guard who was nice to her and would entertain her. Pretty soon, the princess and the guard became very good friends. One day, the princess expressed her wish to run away and asked the guard to help.

But the guard was loyal to the king and couldn’t do anything for her. But he had an idea that would help her escape. He said, “The prince is only with you for your beauty. If your face is disfigured, the prince would easily let you go.” The princess was sad that no one would want to be with her if her face was disfigured.


But the guard had fallen in love with the princess by then. He said he would always be with her because he fell in love with her inner beauty and kind heart. The princess to realised that she was in love with the guard. Together they made a large cut to her face and disfigured it. One look at the princess’s face and the prince was disgusted. He let the princess go, and she lived happily with the guard who loved her truly.🪐✨
