Mia Chapter III
"Mia?" It was her mother at the door, looking tired. She had dark circles under her eyes and she looked sick. But she was smiling. "Hi...mom", she smiled back. Mia turned off her phone and kept it in her bag with a quick swift and then went to hug her mother. No one spoke for two whole minutes, there was silence and a sense of happiness and peace amongst all this. It had been a very long time since Mia felt included, she felt like she WAS there in that very moment. That moment, if you ask me was very unexplainable. But I tried.
They came inside and shut the door. Everything in the house was lying all around. There was dust everywhere you looked. This was not common in the Miller house. As if sensing something was going on, she shared a look with her mom. "Come on, I know you have questions, a lot of them but we'll discuss and answer them together. Alright?" Mia nodded.
They started walking straight ahead, her mom clenching her by her arm. They kept walking till they reached a bookcase. "Woah, a secret room behind a bookshelf, cool but not original." Mrs. Miller smiled again. She pressed a red leather book with something written on it with golden. Surprisingly nothing opened. Instead Walia (Mrs.Miller) walked towards a carpet thwt had been there since they moved in. She lifted it to see a small panel showcasing numbers. She typed something in and told Mia to come stand with her. Walia held her hand tightly and soon the panel broke pit and they were going up the ceiling. In about 30 seconds, they were in a room.
A room no one could have ever imagined. It was magical, it had all the tech equipments imagined. It was glowing. Just like the movies it had computers displaying so much information you would take months to understand. Code language and a softboard just like those secret detectives. Her father was sitting on a chair, that was hovering, buried in a notebook in which he was scribbling something. You could see how busy he was. "Hey Walia, I might have a lead."
She gestured Mia to walk forward and go to him. Which she did. And then William looked up. And then the same thing that happend at the door step, unexplainable.
Five minutes later, they had her sit down. They had some explaining to do. Here we go!
"Mia, my child, let's start. We both are architects and that's not a lie. But we're also scientists and secret agents. We have spent sleepless nights trying to figure out what is about to happen, and unfortunately we weren't fast enough which led to this pandemic. Now we're trying to figure out why and who did this. How this can be fixed etcetera etcetera. We never meant to lie to you but..." Walia was done with her part.
"Now that you're here, we need you to help us, let me tell you everything we've found out..."
