The Mirror's Reflection
#WritcoStoryPrompt41
The mirror loomed over them as they traversed the hallways of the abandoned mansion. It was rumoured that no one came out alive from it...

(below is my original writing, enjoy)
It was rumored still that the reflections they see were not theirs but the ghosts of those who never came out alive. So this was their own hell, forever trapped within the walls of the mirror, scream as they might, nobody will ever hear them. That was what was told to them by the villagers of that rotting old village.
"Such silly superstitions, do you have to believe in them?"
"Not as much as they simply want to scare travelers."
But their companion was quiet, observing the mirror around them.
"Hey you, why so quiet?"
"Can't you hear it?"
"Hear what?" the other one asked, fear and curiousity mixed within their eyes.
"The sounds."
"What sounds?"
"Exactly. There's nothing here but eerie silence!"
"That's because the mansion's abandoned!" The first yelled out his voice echoed throughout.
"Shhh! What if we are not alone?"
"Oh stop believing in those mindless superstitions, they can give you a run for your money. Amirite Joe?"
"Joe?!"
The man named Joe was nowhere to be seened. As if...As if he just simply left everything behind.
"Quit the acting Joe, if you don't, then more gold for me. Cause I ain't gonna split it with this lad here."
"Split what? Should we just go find your partner?"
"Who cares."
"...They do..." his voice almost a whisper as he started to point his finger at another mirror. This time, their reflections didn't show. Except for Joe's and he was writhing in pain, clearly in agony but could do nothing about it.
"G'damned it Joe!"
"It's too late to save him, they got him now. But don't worry, you're next." The lad said as he smiled quietly before pushing the man into the same mirror where they saw Joe. Only this time the man was inside the mirror and was seeing what seemed like hell. He tried to scream and banged the mirror to get the boy's attention. To no avail. The boy left with a smile on his face, humming under his breath. The villagers did right this time, and the monster will be pleased. Pleased enough to stop hunting down what was left of the people in the village. But all is not over until he could find more to add to the mirror. That cursed mirror in that cursed mansion. Nobody should know how it came to be and why. All for the sake of a sacrifice gone wrong. The boy left, ignoring the moans of pain from the reflections of the mirror still writhing in pain.
